Important tips for making keto pork chops

Make sure you do not slice your mushrooms too thinly as they will cook too much and look unappealing. If using smaller mushrooms, you can just quarter them, rather than slicing.

Ingredients

  • 2 bone in pork chops
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ cup heavy cream

How to make baked keto pork chops

To start, gather all of your ingredients in one place then preheat oven to 375F.

Then in a skillet heat olive oil and add pork chops and sear on each side for 30 seconds. Transfer the pork chops into a baking dish.

In the same skillet, cook the mushrooms with spices for 4 minutes.

Add heavy cream and bring to a simmer.

Pour the mixture over the pork chops and bake the chops for 20 minutes.

Once done serve these yummy keto pork chops warm.

Should pork chops be covered while baking?

You can cover the pork chops during the baking process to ensure that there is more moisture during the baking. However, in the last 10 minutes you should remove the cover so the excess liquid can be evaporated. If they are covered the whole time, they may become soggy.

What cut of pork chops should I use?

You can use the bone in pork chops as the bone will ensure that there is some moisture.

You can also use the loin pork chop (these are very lean and have very mild flavor) or boneless chops.

What is the best temperature to bake pork chops?

The ideal baking temperature is 350F for 30 minutes or until the inner temperature of each pork chop is 145F.

How to prevent pork chops from turning out tough?

The very first important step is not to overcook them as overcooked pork chops are tough. Cook time and color are not totally accurate ways to measure the doneness of pork chops. Instead, the most foolproof way to tell when they’re ready is by measuring the internal temperature with a probe thermometer, at the thickest part of the chop. Cooked to 145°F, the meat is tender, juicy, and just a touch pink. You can also place them in brine before cooking.

How to store

You can store the baked keto pork chops in a fridge up to 4 days. If freezing, separate the chops and mushrooms in different containers. Freeze in an airtight container up to a month. To reheat; thaw and reheat in the oven at 350F.
